Lucky in Love

I finally broke my black and white streak! This is a painting I did as a gift for two of my friends who got married yesterday on 07-07-07. The title is their wedding motto thingy. The background is supposed to be a sunrise. You know, some sort of metaphor for a new beginning and a bright future and blah blah blah. I hate the dark one's head. I knew when I started that it wouldn't turn out well. I hate that angle.

Anyways, about 6 hours of work (mostly very late at night.) The refs are courtesy of . It's huge so I had to take a photo (sorry for the crappy quality) and I didn't feel like cropping the edges.

They are both young, only 18 and 19, and the odds are against them. Some people have already doomed their young love to last only a few years, and some only a few months. People don't think they know what they're doing; that they're being reckless and thoughtless. They know exactly what they're up against though. They know that it won't be easy; that it'll only get harder. They've got everything going for them, and everything to lose. People are still against them, telling them it was a mistake- but you know what? I think they actually prefer it that way.

EDIT: This couple got a divorce not even 8 months after being married. The ex-wife took the painting, at least she liked it. Shit happens I guess...
